A Wimbledon Theatre Film project for secondary School Children with S.E.N

  • Planning and delivering weekly workshops to inform the social skills needed to identify and navigate potential danger associated with Strangers through drama whilst developing the technical skills to support them making film.

  • Documenting and evaluating the value and efficacy of the work to satisfy and secure funding for the project.

Award-winning theatre company specialising in inventive, visual theatre with original live music, particularly for 1st time and hard to reach audiences.

Established in 1990, One of the U.K'S largest Youth Theatre Companies with over 300 members 5 - 25.

  • Working alongside industry professionals and creatives, to stage large scale musicals - Bugsy Malone, Peter Pan and The jungle Book with a cast of up to 150 young people.

 

(Since 2012 ) Orange Tree Theatre: Youth Theatre Leader

Arts Council Portfolio Producing Theatre developing emerging performers, writers and directors.

  • Leading weekly workshops for three of the theatre’s Youth Groups, aged 9 – 14 with an emphasis on performance skills and technique.

  • Directing end of term production in the theatre in response to the theatre’s productions where appropriate and leading a week long summer school with Arts Award accreditation.

A Nationwide Festival facilitating schools performing Shakespeare in Professional Venues.

  • Leading Shakespeare based Performance workshops with staff and children from Primary, Secondary and Special Needs Schools.

  • Welcoming schools to the participating venue and acting as Liaison between the school staff and Theatre technicians to facilitate the Tech Rehearsal.

 

(2011) Crying Out Loud: Creative Performance Facilitator

Creative Producers touring Children’s Theatre Company T.P.O’s production of Dance Please!

  • Collaborated with artistic team and venue staff to suggest and implement changes to make the performance accessible and inclusive to audience members on the Autistic Spectrum.

  • Devised and led a familiarization workshop and created downloadable resources to accompany the performance.

 

(2010) Chelsea Theatre: Director

Arts project for 30 children aged 8 – 13 from a diverse local community.

  • Devised and led a series of Art and Drama workshops towards a final performance piece adapted from Grimm’s fairytales.

  • Co-ordinated a team of 6 volunteer practitioners, managed project budget and organized external trips to cultural venues.

  • Providing evaluative assessment and evidence for future funding.

 

(2009-10) Shed@ThePark Assistant Artistic Director

Inclusive Youth Theatre for mainstream and physical and educational needs children 7-19.

  • Creating performing arts workshops, promoting cohesion and inclusion by differentiating to challenge and include.

  • Creating and co-ordinating outreach opportunities to reach new members and explore new avenues for funding.

  • Supporting the Artistic Director in Planning and directing rehearsals for the company’s anniversary performance.

Secondary school for students with Severe and Multiple and Profound Learning Difficulties.

  • Planning and leading performing arts sessions to support the National Curriculum and enrich their arts remit to achieve ‘Artsmark’ Silver Award 2010

  • Coordinating and directing performance projects with outside companies and in house, resulting in public performances at the Young Vic Theatre and the Unicorn Theatre.
